D.Parins Bio
I have been interested in art since I was a little girl, and have been creating it most of my life. In 2005 I decided to sell art professionally. The artwork I create has a quiet simplicity, meant to evoke a peaceful serenity for the viewer. I want people to feel good looking at my artwork. My landscapes and nature paintings are inspired by beautiful, often solitary settings from favorite places as close as my garden or as faraway as places that I have traveled to. Water has intrigued me as a subject for my artwork, perhaps because I have always lived near bays, lakes, or creeks. Other favorite subjects include landscapes, nature, and portraits. Part of my goal when doing portraits is to capture a bit of the sitter's personality in the painting. I work primarily in watercolor and pastel. Watercolor offers a spontaneity and translucency that is almost magical.
Art Exhibits and Contributions
Deborah Parins Zich has been a longtime resident of Green Bay and the Door Peninsula of Wisconsin. Her educational background includes a BA in graphic design and fine art from UW-Green Bay. Additionally, she has studied watercolor at Steven Schultz School of Art in Green Bay, WI, portraiture with Judith Carducci at the Richeson Gallery, WI, and watercolor with Joye Moon in Oshkosh, WI. Deborah is a graduate and business plan grant winner of the Urban Hope Program (Ehub). Group memberships include the Green Bay Art Colony and the Northeast Wisconsin Watercolor Society (formerly BAWG). Since 2006 Deborah has enjoyed exhibiting her artwork at the ARTgarage and throughout the Northeast Wisconsin Area.
